East Lothian Council Planning Committee unanimously voted to grant consent for this keystone development at their meeting held 5 November.
27 residents submitted a total of 61 objections to the scheme. Two local residents and the Community Council spoke in objection at the committee but did not win the day.
The notice of planning consent was issued last Thursday and you can see it here
Condition 9 and condition 20 have been amended in the light of our representation at the Planning Committee. We had asked for Planning Conditions requiring the transmission owner (SPEN) to join the Construction Traffic Group and the Biodiversity Community Liaison Group, and through these groups to adjust their traffic and biodiversity plans to take account of all of the developments, not just their own.
We have achieved limited progress, better on the biodiversity than the traffic.
We will continue to make the argument that if developments are consented, then working together is better for everybody.
