For almost 20 years the East Lammermuir Community Council / Benefit Fund has been making grants to local groups and projects for the benefit of local people.
The available funding will be increasing and we need to think BIGGER and BOLDER …. For example, SPEN have announced a pot of £4M for this end of their Eastern Green Link 1 project. Other large funds are likely to emerge as new infrastructure is built here, and elsewhere in East Lothian.
We also need to think about how we work with neighbouring areas as some forthcoming community benefits funds may be offered to more coastal communities than just us – or even the whole Firth of Forth region.
So we are looking for representatives from each village and community group in East Lammermuir to help us ‘think outside the box’ for the benefit of our villages.
We need your inspiration and your creative ideas… to help us come up the right approach as new community benefits come on stream.
- What do you think your village needs most?
- What do you think the Dunbar area needs most?
- What do you think East Lothian needs most?
- What is really missing where you live?
- How can we create a sustainable future for our communities?
- How can we use these funds to improve the way we all live?
Over recent years we have made grants to a wide range of local projects – from community events to a heat network feasibility study.
Now we want to do MORE !!
Can you help us by coming along to chat and help us get creative? How best to make a real difference to this place and use these future funds to make positive change?
Our ideas session is on the evening of 10th March in Innerwick Village Hall. If you would like to come along please contact me via email to find out more. helen.taylorbrown@elcbf.org.uk
