The Community Carrot is very excited about our new volunteering project –
the Community Carroteers.
We are a community-owned greengrocer and whole foods shop in Dunbar. We have received funding from the East Lammermuir Community Council through the Crystal Rig Wind Farm fund to pilot a free outreach food delivery service. We want to support people who are isolated, perhaps housebound, who can’t get to the High Street. The aim is to bring some Crunchy cheer and some friendly chat along with your groceries.
We’re thrilled that The Community Carroteers Project is off to an exciting start! We’ve had a great response so far, with strong interest from both our Crunchy customers and volunteers. But we need YOUR help to keep the momentum going! Do you know anyone who might benefit from this service? We are looking for people specifically in the East Lammermuir area who would benefit from a weekly shop, delivered by a volunteer who will happily pop in for a cuppa and help to put the shopping away. They might even help with a few jobs around the home.
If this project sounds like something you’d like to be part of, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
You can email Danielle at volunteer@communitycarrot.scot for more details or pop into the shop for a chat.
Let’s continue to spread the magic of food and friendship!
