Meeting summary
The Lorries in our Lanes meeting on Monday 10th November was a chance to hear updates on the current and upcoming construction of energy projects, focused on their impacts on traffic and travel. You can view the presentations below.
These are the public facing meetings of the Community Traffic and Travel Forum.
The forum is a means for interested residents to input into the design of solutions to minimise any potential disruption from the construction of the energy projects, to all forms of travel, in ways which work best for the local community. Beth opened the meeting by reviewing some of the recent activities of the forum:
- Requested vehicle signage which was agreed for all SPEN projects (Eastern Green Link 1 and Branxton Substation) to assist with identification of contractor vehicles.
- Input into design of horse lay-bys alongside the Branxton Substation compound near Birnieknowes.
- Input into design of Energy Projects related A1 signage being planned by BEAR Scotland to improve safety on the A1 for all road users.
- Hosted a community engagement event to gather community views on the restoration of the Woodhall Road (off the A1 at the Innerwick Junction). A report has been sent to East Lothian Council to consider as they manage developer contributions.
