The Neart na Gaoithe (NnG) offshore wind farm is now fully operational, and its owners have committed to providing community benefit funding of £270,000 per annum, rising with inflation, for the expected 25 year lifespan of the wind farm. This funding will be administered by Foundation Scotland.

In recognition of the particular disruption experienced during wind farm construction (including onshore works to connect to the National Grid) and initial operations, communities within the East Lammermuir Community Council area will benefit from 68% of the funding (£183,600 per annum plus inflation) for the first three years, whilst communities along the Fife and Berwickshire coast will benefit from the rest.  This will be reviewed in 2028 to inform arrangements for year 4 onwards.
