East Lammermuir Community Administrator (3 month Pilot)

Applications are invited for the role of Community Administrator responsible to East Lammermuir Community Council

Main Tasks

•produce accurate and timely minutes of Community Council Meetings and ELCBT meetings (total of 13 per year), some in person some on line. 

• Proactive management of East Lammermuir Community Council and East Lammermuir Community Benefits Fund public communications 

• Oversight of surveys including preparation of Jotform and hard copies (collate information, style the pages and send pdf to printer), arrange to collect from printer and alert distribution teams

• Maintenance of online and communication platforms – website updates at elcc.scot, admin support for community Facebook page, set up of WhatsApp Community outward facing group,

• Notification for Community Council Meetings, public information (traffic/weather), surveys, etc. shared on socials

• Close Liaison with the East Lammermuir Energy Partnership Manager to ensure effective and efficient communications without unnecessary duplication 

• Ad-hoc support for other local projects

• Occasional additional duties which may be required by Community Council

Initially, the role will be for a 3 month pilot, and if successful, may then be extended by mutual agreement.
It is estimated that the role will average 6-8 hours per week, at £15 -17.50 per hour (negotiable based on experience). 
The role will be self employed and hours can be worked flexibly around other commitments, although attendance at Community Council meetings is essential and other occasional evening or weekend meetings may be required. 

Person specification
We are looking for a self-starting community minded individual with relevant creative and technical experience to start as soon as possible. 

Essential skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication
Excellent computer skills including Word, Canva, layout, publicity
Good organisational and time management skills
Able to plan workload and work on own initiative
Desirable skills:
Experience managing calendars and social media in a similar role
Access to own transport
