The Springfield Solar Farm and BESS proposal from Voltalia is subject to a Public Local Inquiry following an objection by East Lothian Council.

“ A Ground-Mounted Solar Photovoltaic Development with a Generating Capacity of up to approximately 165 Megawatts (Mw), Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) with a Generating Capacity of up to approximately 80 Mw, associated Infrastructure, Access, and Landscaping”.

The first stage of this process was a Pre Examination Meeting (PEM) held on 24 August. The purpose of the PEM was to discuss the procedural arrangements for the inquiry and the timetable for that process.
