“On 16 October 2026 the Reporters ruled that the proposed Bowshiel Solar Farm is not to be regarded as part of the Springfield Solar Farm & BESS application for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) purposes, and for the purpose of the public inquiry. 

The Reporters do not require further information about Bowshiel, or its grid connection, on the basis that the two solar farms form a single EIA project, nor do they presently consider a mandatory cumulative assessment of Bowshiel’s connection to be required. 

Nonetheless, the ruling expressly treats evidence concerning potential cumulative effects of the Bowshiel connection as relevant to the inquiry.”
