Introducing East Lammermuir’s new Hedgerow Restoration Coordinator and opportunities to join in to plant, survey and rejuvenate our local hedgerows.

Healthy hedgerows provide a wide range of benefits for wildlife, land management and habitat connection across our landscape. However, with hedgerows in decline and habitats becoming increasingly fragmented, the East Lothian Hedgerow Restoration Project is working with communities, and interested farmers/ landowners to identify opportunities to plant, survey and rejuvenate local hedgerows.
We are therefore delighted to introduce Carol-Ann Glass, our new East Lammermuir Hedgerow Restoration Coordinator. Carol-Ann will be working with the local community, and interested farmers/ landowners to progress these hedgerow restoration activities.
There will be volunteer opportunities in hedgerow planting, surveying the condition of existing hedgerows to help prioritise hedgerow for rejuvenation, and hedgerow rejuvenation activities. You can choose what interests you most and training is provided. No experience is required!
The volunteer sessions are normally for half a day and will take place both on weekdays and at weekends. The perfect way to enjoy time outdoors and make a difference locally.
To learn more about our hedgerows, the project and volunteering opportunities, for more details, or to get involved, please contact carol-ann@eastlothianclimatehub.org.
