As part of the EGL1 project, contractor METLEN is constructing a Park and Ride facility, located within Dunbar Business Park, Spott Road.
Once complete, the facility will be in use for three years and provide 261 parking spaces for construction workers who will travel by bus to and from METLEN’s converter station construction site at Oxwellmains.
“Construction of the facility is expected to commence in the coming weeks and take around three months to complete.” Sept 14th
“During the works, there will be:
- Construction vehicles entering the site via the A1- Spott Road – industrial estate access, and vice versa.
- Plant and other construction machinery operating within the site.
- Temporary welfare facilities within the site for construction workers.
- Tower lighting, which will only be used if required during working hours.
Activities on the Park and Ride site will generally take place between 7.30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Towards the end of the construction period, there may be a requirement for limited Saturday working.”
